Coworking is starting (pilot) — Tuesdays + Wednesdays from Feb 10

We're ready to run a small coworking pilot at Common Good Spaces. Starting Tuesday 10 February 2026.
Hi — Tom here again.
Following on from our last update, where we shared what we heard from the community and committed to giving coworking a go in February — we're now ready to open the doors.
It's taken a little longer than we hoped (classic), but the basics are now in place — and the space is starting to feel genuinely nice to work in.
We'll be opening from:
- Tuesday 10 February 2026
- Wednesday 11 February 2026
…and continuing weekly from there.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share thoughts and feedback. We've tried to build this around what people actually asked for: a quiet, friendly "work day" routine around other humans, with good internet and somewhere to take calls.
The pilot at a glance
Days
Coworking will run Tuesdays + Wednesdays (ongoing)
Pricing
8-day pack = $240 (works out to $30/day)
We'll start small
We're intentionally keeping capacity limited at first while we learn what works best in the space and for the group.
What's included
- Your own desk + chair for the day
- Fast Wi-Fi (fibre)
- Basic amenities: tea, filter coffee, kettle, fridge, etc.
- Two meeting rooms for calls:
- can be used ad-hoc when free
- and/or booked when you need certainty
How packs + bookings will work
We're using a simple booking platform (Momence) to manage:
- coworking days
- meeting room bookings
Each pack includes 8 credits, and you use 1 credit to book a coworking day.
Home Days (Tuesday or Wednesday)
- Packs are purchased as either a Tuesday Home Day pack or a Wednesday Home Day pack
- Home Day packs get priority access to a portion of spots on that day
- To keep it manageable, we'll start with 6 Home Day packs per day (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Flexibility
- We'll also make a small number of flex spots available, and can shift these between days depending on demand.
- Packs will have a 10-week expiry, so you've got some breathing room for weeks you can't make it.
- We'll also trial offering the occasional hot-desk at $40 for infrequent visitors.
When you purchase:
- Set up your details (name, email, phone) + create a password
- Book your first coworking day using your credits
You can book on the web, or via the Momence app (which makes it easier to see bookings, book new days, and grab a meeting room slot).
We'll also send you our Coworking Guide when you sign up — it covers the basics, plus our house norms (quiet + friendly, with space to focus).
Update — 12 February 2026
We've shared a quick update on what we're noticing so far, plus a couple of offers while we have capacity. Read the members update →

What we've done so far
A few quick progress notes:
- The door's no longer butcher's paper — we've put up the Common Good Spaces decal. If you're walking past, feel free to peek in (when we're around).
- Desks + chairs have arrived and are set up. The desks are on lockable casters, so we can reconfigure easily for workshops and other uses.
- Booking is set up (coworking + meeting spaces).
- We've been finishing the practical stuff: entry access, network setup (guest Wi-Fi, UniFi gear), meeting-room TV, painting, safety + signage.
- We've pulled together an initial guide so people can feel comfortable quickly (and we'll keep improving it as questions come up).
- The front area will become a small retail / maker space, to keep the entrance lively while coworking runs in the back.
What we'll improve over the coming months
Coworking is only one part of what we're building (with the sauna/plunge next door), so some upgrades will roll out steadily:
- Replacing the gas heater with ducted aircon so we can heat and cool properly (working with local suppliers/trades). The space has been holding a stable temperature so far, but we'll be flexible if we hit any bad weather.
- Better cable management and desk/gear organisation
- Dividers or acoustic panelling for sound management, and other layout tweaks as we learn what works
- Bringing in local makers and getting the retail front space running
- For now it's BYO gear (monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.) but we'll look at acquiring some spare equipment to make things more convenient
- A few people asked about standing desks — not in the initial pilot, but on the "nice to have" list
Questions / want to see the space first?
If you've got questions, just reply and we'll help. And if you'd prefer, we're also happy to meet you on site and walk you through the setup so you know what you're arriving to.

We're aiming for something simple, fair, and genuinely useful — and we'll keep listening as we go.
Hope to see you in the space soon.
